Default Common dakota?

I was just wondering if my model dakota is any rare or anything? It's a 2002 4x4 AWD Quad Cab SLT with a 6.5ft bed and the 5.9l magnum in it. Here is a picture of it

That is very unusual. In fact, that's the first I've seen. AFAIK, all quad cabs came with the 5.25' bed, like mine below. I compared your pic to mine and indeed, mine is much shorter from wheel well to cab.

You should run a build sheet to tell you how it left the factory, as I suspect your bed may have been switched.

I was suspecting that too as the berliner that is on it is red underneath, but it actually looks really good and factory, but I'll try and get a build sheet

I looked up a build sheet and it indeed was swapped to a 6.5ft bed which is now getting rusty too from people who dont know how to take care of things lol

a 6.5 bed wouldn't physically fit on a QC chassis that I know of? The whole idea is that QC and CC share the 131" wheelbase, and the extra 9" of cab shortens the bed by 9". The axle would have to be moved back and frame extended for the bumper, to fit a 6.5 bed.

Edit: My 2001 FSM lists three wheelbases: 112, 124, and 131 inches. I always thought my CC was 131". The plot thickens.... I wonder if 112 is RC/6.5 and 124 is ( CC/6.5 and QC/5.25 ) and 131 is ( RC/8 and QC/6.5 )? Wow this is now messy...

so you think that the frame is extended on this truck in order to fit the extra 9" of bed into it?

I've never measured, but if my CC/6.5 is the 131" WB as I have always thought, then a QC/6.5 would have to be about a 140-141" wheelbase.

If my CC/6.5 is 124", then yours would be 131" and I have no idea what other combinations might exist to justify that production length.

Club Cab 131" WB
Cargo Box Length @ Floor (in)77.9
Length, Overall w/o rear bumper (in)
215

Quad Cab 131" WB
Cargo Box Length @ Floor (in)63
Length, Overall w/o rear bumper (in)
215.1

Reg Cab 112" WB
Cargo Box Length @ Floor (in)77.9
Length, Overall w/o rear bumper (in)
196

I can't find any published data for the 124" WB for this generation, but the first gen says the 124" WB option was for RC with 8' bed.
