Default Leakage along the bottom

Was this leakage trail the culprit maybe?
It shows a line going down the bottom of the booster .
That rubber seal was shoved into the brake master pretty far ,but I had a spare one .
When it leaks like this what does that do or cause?
Pic is view from the bottom.

The booster is a dry item. Any fluids have to come from within the master cylinder - means the piston seals in the master are gone.

Yes thanks ,does that explain the spongy pedal an air ? I bet it's a internal leak.
I was gonna bench test it but looks like I'll need to replace it anyway.
