dont wanna get reamed again!!
$8,000 for a V6 Dakota with 100,000+ miles on it is NOT a good deal, IMO
I know i've posted this before, but here's a reference of what I paid: '99 Dak SLT Ext.Cab, 4x4, 5.2, Oversized Tires, Most Options, 64,000 miles = $9000 out the door from a dealer
... and I agree with Titan2087 - I'd worry more about the Tranny than the Engine.
... If I had to do again I'd probably get the same truck set up, but with a 5-speed; However a 4x4 5-speed Dakota is nearly impossible to stumble across.
As far as motor, I've never driven a 4.7 so I don't really know what to say about the 4.7 vs. 5.2 argument, but the 5.2 is a tested motor soooo - That's all I have to say about that ( <-- a la Forrest Gump)
