Default 2nd gen dakota hub swap

Does anyone know of a way to change the bolt pattern on a 2nd gen Dakota in order to have more wheel options? I am aware of the spacer option but it isn’t an ideal solution. Currently running 6x114.3.

From another forum...

"found this on offroad web and ive never heard of this and just wondered if it would really work seems like it would to me
The '03 Durango/Dakota has the same oddball 6x4.5-bolt pattern that is shared with our Project Equator. After some research, he found that '02 Dodge Ram 2WD front hubs would fit on his stock spindles and are 3/16-inch less offset, which could counter the aftermarket wheel offset. It also provided a better steering geometry by decreasing the scrub radius. The replacement of the rear axles to '06 Dakota axles would change the bolt pattern in the rear."

I thought about switching to another bolt pattern too, but the effort was too much. When my tires wore out on the original wheels, I bought a set of American Racing wheels along with tires already mounted and called it a day. Sold my original wheels with what tires they had left to offset my investment. LOL

Thanks for the response. I do agree that that is probably more work than it’s worth

1320 wheels makes a conversion, but you'll have to re-drill every set of rotors you buy, and they are cheap oreilly's hubs that have bearing issues.

You still have to figure out the rear brakes, but converting the axle to a 5 lug pattern is just a matter of ordering new axle shafts. Dodge Ram brakes may be the ticket for the rears.

I’ve found a company called 1320 Wheels (credit: magnethead) who makes a 5 lug conversion and sell the rotors to fit as well! This could be an option but apparently they’re not the best quality hubs/axles . I’m wondering if anyone has run these hubs/axles and what you thought of them.
