1999 Dodge Dakota 4x4
My dodge Dakota was running just fine and then wouldn't start but the high beams were stuck on. We changed the battery and now it starts but high beams still won't turn off. We have never changed or replaced the headlights so I wouldn't think it's a cross wire issue. But possibly corroded or disconnected. Where would I start to figure this out, if anyone has information please help as this is the only vehicle I have to drive, also would it be a cheap or expensive fix?
pull the turn signal switch and check for a short for the high beam position, you may be able to just disconnect it and see if the lights go out. If there is, get a can of electronic component cleaner from auto parts store and spray into any openings while working the switch back & forth...
