Default torsion bar lift? what and how?

i hear of these TB lifts people do, usally a 1"-2." too much and it puts stress on something i think. But how does that lift the vehicle, what do I adjust to do this and what are the negative effects? Thanks

jack up the front of the truck a little bit , crawl under the truck and right about where the driver and passenger would be there are two 15/16 bolts just give them about four complete turnsand you'll get about 1 1/2 - 2" on the front end. I put 2" on my it didn't seem to affect anything, but i did have to get front end alignment afterwards. It looks alot better and you can get some 33's on it afterwards with a little rubbing

Will these bolts be a PITA to turn? I realize it depends with the age of the truck, but in general?

I'm tempted to do this because I feel the front end is way too low on my truck compared to the back.

Spray them down with some wd40 let it sit for a few minutes , then turn it clockwise to raise and counter clock to lower. I've never lowered one before, but i got a friend that said he's done it and wouldn't recommend it. But like i said i dont know.
When i cranked my t-bars i gave it 7 complete turns got - 2 1/4",
4 turns = about 1 1/2"
and as long as you jack up the front end a little bit they should be easy to turn

Thanks for the info. I don't want 2.25", but I do want to jack the front up a bit to level off the truck. Before and after pics to come!

I've been looking for add a leaf kits without success. I'd just like to add capacity to the rear end, lifting it would be a secondary bonus. I'd like to hook up a 6k trailer without it dragging the rear end.
