The big one goes to the tank. To the fuel pump specifically if memory serves. Unfortunately you would need to drop the tank to do a proper repair on that line.

Ok. That could be correct but the big line I’m referring to is headed forward and is actually melted near the firewall where it appears to have started to head upwards. There are actually 3 lines that come off the canister. This bigger one and 2 smaller ones. One of the smaller lines goes to the purge valve and the other one heads back and up from the canister. I did not trace this line yet to be sure but I assumed it was the one that went up to the fuel tank but I could be wrong.

Look at your emissions sticker under the hood, will tell you where it goes and how they should be routed. if its not there, search for it, I recall seeing it for the 4 cylinder engine.
