Just bought my 97 5.2L V6 Magnum Dakota used from a private seller
I have a1997 Dakota pickup with the 3.9L V6 Magnum engine. The seller had mentioned the engine had been swapped out because the old one blew.. I don't see it's specs listed as an engine equipped as a Dakota V6. I only seethe V8 engine. I need to run some diagnostic tests to see if I can get the bogging down problem fixed with a reprogram or a recalibration. There has not been an engine light yet until yesterday when the engine got a little warm and then the engine light came on. I drove immediately to auto zone and had them put the module on it and the code came back as P0441. I got the print out of the diagnostic that time. Since then the engine light has not come back on. I think it was vapor locking on me, every so often the truck will backfire and want to start running rough. I have replaced the MAP sensor and throttle position sensor. My buddy recharged the AC , installed a brand new ignition coil and checked the spark plugs and gap. Everything checked out as clean and clear. The only issue i am having now, is the only issue I've had since I bought the truck. This issue is the problem with putting my foot on the gas to accelerate. It doesn't like the pedal pressed further than about a fraction of an inch or else it starts sputtering and bogging down, plus when that happens, I notice the fuel is sucked up faster than it should. I am lucky to get 200 miles on a topped off full tank of gas. One person told me it could be a pvc valve. I have done the manual reset by unplugging the battery a d turning on the headlights to expell any residual electrical remnants from the wiring. I then, started the engine and allowed the truck to idle for about 20 minutes. It seems to be running a little bit better besides the same issue with the gas pedal being pressed too far. It still doesn't want to go when I want it to. Any suggestions of what this issue might be? I have a guy coming over to hook it up to his computer to run some scans and maybe reset the system. Any ideas of what I might need to do to fix my truck? Thank you all so much.

The Dakota's from that year had a 4 cylinder, the mag v6 and the 5.2/5.9 for options as far as I know. Try unplugging the front O2 sensor and see if that helps at all. If it doesn't get better then that's not the issue. Also check fuel pressure. Attach the connector and manually open the throttle. If the fuel pressure starts dropping while you rev the engine you have a failing pump. Do you have a scan tool with support for the basic OBD2 data stream? If so check what your fuel trims are showing. Also check what the map sensor is reading. Remember that new does not mean good. Does the exhaust smell like fuel or have any odd color? IE: White/blue/black.
You misunderstood my formatting. The 5.2 and 5.9 are the V8's. Your showing 4 codes. What are they? I see one for the fuel pump.
Edit: I missed the photo with the picture of all the codes. The main concern is your fuel pump relay control circuit code. Did you have the truck hooked to a battery charger while you were checking this? Check the fuel pump relay first. If the relay is good then your going to have to check the harness and the fuel pump connector.
