So I unfortunately have a rust problem on my frame right now. It's eaten through an area right in the rear fender wells where there's two frame pieces there, only one side, unfortunately towards the front of the truck and not the rear shorter piece. Don't really think there's a good way to fix that without just doing a swap, cause otherwise the truck is good. Body is good, mechanically sound, interior needs a little bit of work, mostly things like shampooing the carpet and fixing the headliner but nothing crazy bad. Anyways, I understand the frame job would be a bit project and all that but it needs done if I want to keep the body and whatnot. Figured I'd just find a parts truck honestly, but I don't know how specific I need to be. The length sure, it's an extended cab long bed, but would it also need to be a 4x4 5.2 frame or could I use one that say had the 3.9 and 4x2 if I put the 4x4 axles and suspension and all that with it. Ik with the rangers to 4x4 swap you needed a different frame, or change out the cross member so I was curious if it'll be the same here.
