Thanks! That’s what I was thinking so before going in to one of our chains here I thought to look for a response.

our only parts store here now are the national chain retailers. We still have a non chain parts store about 12 miles away. I tried calling, no answer. An online blurb said open on Saturday. I ride there and Saturday is marked as closed on the door now. Boo! I may wait and go back there Monday.

Im here so let’s get an “advanced” look see…….

Well the Car Quest brand is stamped MotoRad. I got them to pull the MotoRad part to compare. First noticeable difference was the Moto brand unit had no seal on it. The box was labeled as with seal.

The frame material and construction looked the same between the two. The plunger part in the center was a darker , brass looking where the boxed Moto brand plunger was silver.

I have seen several comments of other brands having the MotoRad name stamped in the part.

Its been a long time since Ive had to do any basic or extensive auto work. Its rather frustrating where
parts reliability is highly questionable now.

When the stat in on the top side of the engine gives minimal coolant removal but this one is on the bottom
of the block creating a lot of coolant removal to replace a stat. Seems a bit backwards.

That's why I'm not a fan of later model vehicles from any of the makers. I know they want to make things more efficient and OHC engines are more efficient and such. The trend away from field servicing and making internal systems more dainty is causing long term reliability to suffer. Unfortunately, the trend toward Chinesium parts has been going on for years and is only now starting to change. Some companies are coming back on shore but others are looking at emerging economies besides China.

It’s all about profit, not quality. I stopped by the leprechaun hut and it’s the same there, stamped MotoRod and one with a dark plunger and the other being silver.

Has the MotoRod seized actual Mopar parts as well?

Cool

MotoRod took over stant more than a year ago they also took over Gates parts also. Just China junk now both of them I've tried ordering Stant off ebay supposedly old stock they sent MotoRod stamped Stant.
I believe its MotoRad not MotoRod.

Quality parts just don't exist any more even OEM parts come stamped MotoRad unless they are coning us all.

Not sure if both company's just gave up and sold there name or were sold to MotoRad so they could use the brand name.

MotoRad means made in China crap.

What sucks is most Gates parts off rock auto cost more because they are or were a quality brand but if you order a Gates part you get a Gates box with a MotoRad stamped part so you spent $ on a **** part.

So is rock auto screwing us or are they clueless to what's going on?
