Default Dak slipped off floor jack

This is just a safety reminder, guys and gals.

Yesterday I started doing some work I'd planned for a while. This includes draining the coolant and replacing the thermostat, which is located underneath, on a 4.7. Had the floor jack centered under the front cross-member and lifted high. Problem is, I was on a sloped part of the my driveway, with the nose pointed downhill. Parking brakes were on and rear wheel chocked. So in order to stay centered under the lift point, the jack is supposed to creep along as you jack. In this case it was creeping uphill on a rough surface. Apparently, it never crept, so the lift pad was basically sliding out from under the cross member as I jacked. Made a deep dent in the oil pan and the hood hit me in the head, but I was happy to not have the alternative.

The truck fell off from maximum height on a 2.5 Ton high-lift floor jack. Luckily I observe one common sense rule. I never ever EVER get under a vehicle not supported by floor jacks, no exceptions! I was using floor jacks but had them removed at the time.

Here is the dent. It's deeper than the photo appears. I lucked out that it didn't rip any of the lines off on the rack & pinion, or ATF lines to the radiator. The oil pan has a windage tray inside with a pick up tube which travels to the right front and the dent is towards the front left. She starts and runs and I don't see any (new) leaks. LOL If no noises, it's going to stay that way.

Here is a video which I timed to show the windage tray setup with pick up tube. Front is left side of screen, similar to the angle of my truck above.
