Would like to lower my 2004 Dakota
Greetings All,
My name is Justin, I’m new here and this is my first post. I am a retired Master Tech and I do all my own work at home except wheel balancing and alignments. This is my first foray into customizing, my experience is bumper to bumper repairs and diagnostics. I was known as the “gremlin guy” as I am pretty decent at electrical diagnostics.
I have an ‘04 Dakota, 4.7L 4WD.
I want to lower the truck all around inexpensively as possible.
What are the thoughts on flipping the rear axle? Is it as simple as just putting the springs to the other side?
As for the front, I know I can just loosen the torsion bars; how does that affect spring rate/ride quality? Is there a way to keep the existing spring rate?
Would the stock alignment specs still work or do they need modification?
I always like to add as much Positive Caster as I can get away with. So really I just need to know about Camber.
As for Toe, I usually run zero to slightly toed-in.
Any tips are greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
