2000 Dakota Wrong CV Axle Stuck on Snap Ring
Hi all!
Long story short, I decided to replace my CV Axles and have the wrong ones. My manufacture date was 4/2000 and it looks like I got the CV Axles for ones manufactured after 9/11/2000 or whatever the cutoff was. Being the brain genius that I am, I didn't check the new CV axles first, and I now have one stuck on there real good. In my CV axle, the snap ring goes in closer to the wheel, on the ones I got the groove for them is closer to the differential.
Now that the wrong new one is stuck on there, I'm having a hell of a time removing it. I don't even care if I have to scrap it at this point; I'm down there with a mini sledge and have used a slide hammer and the thing won't budge off. Do I just need to go hard as hell on it since I don't care, or any other tips on getting that damn thing off?
Thanks for any advice in advance!
