the 97 to 99 upper arms are the same but no longer available new, 2000 to 2004 are identical but available but cannot be used on the 97 to 99 Dakotas.
From 97 to 2004 the lower arms are the same and available.
So, if you need upper arms for a 97 to 99 junk yard is the only answer. now if all you need is new bushings take them some place that can replace the bushings trying to DIY them is no fun and EXTREAMLY DIFFACULT TO DO. you will wish you never tried DONT DO IT. Now if all you need is new ball joints DIY is hard but it can be done, they are still available.
Im talking about 2wd 4x4 uppers are still available for 97 to 99
