i was just wondering if any one knew of any preformance mods avalible for my 97 dakota 4cyl 5spd. im not in the position to put a V8 in it or believe me would. any thing will help thanks

 

you can drop in a airintake thats a good entry level starter.

 

if i decide to go with a 4.7 V8 later.....will it bult up to my 5 spd tranny?? and can it handle all the torque??

i have a 2.5 too. intake helps a lot, as well as exhaust. mine was in pretty ratty condition when i bought it so i cleaned it up a lot with additives and flushes. ive also been told that a 4.0 TB will fit right up to a four cylinder and i know there's a cam you can buy for it. i havent done either of those for i plan on buying something else soon.

 

Its a diffrent trans. Also by the time you dropped in the new engine transmission and everything asociated with it you have done better to jsut sell this truck and buy a new truck with the V-8 but if your looking to do it just for the experince or fun then hell ya have at it but it will be a pretty penny as you proebly alreayd no.
