Default 2003 dodge Dakota parking brake issues!!

Hey fellow Dodge Dakota owners, (or anyone that knows what the hell is going on) I’m having an issue with the parking brake on my 2003 Dakota. The brake releases, but I have to manually pull the pedal back up. If I let go, it re-engages on its own. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any tips on what might be causing it or how to fix it? Thanks!

Your brake cables or mechanism might be binding. You likely have the combo disc brakes with parking drums in the rear. Pull off your wheels, pull off the hats and take a look. Lube up things while there.
