2001 3.9, auto is my project.. there is no key, the lock cylinder is turned with screwdriver. Key on, the instrument cluster works except for the check engine light and abs light are out the led burned out. No bus message is displayed in odometer readout. I began checking the PCI circuits for all the modules. Should there be continuity on the violet/yellow PCI wire between the modules? There is not. The sensors are receiving signal. The fuel pump energizes but no injector pulse . I understand that the key may be chipped with the immobilizer module. On this truck, there is no SKIM behind the cylinder. There is no harness connection for SKIM. IS it possible this truck came without that system? So, I am not shutdown to start truck. How can I find out if this model came without immobilizer?
Am I mistaken to expect continuity to between the connectors at each module with PCI? I am at the point where any further diagnosis requires the drb III tester. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
