4.7 HO engine swap in Dakota!!
OK,
I have a 2001 QC 4x4 5 speed with the 4.7. My plan is to hopefully swap out the tired 4.7 for the High output unit that came out in 2002 and was only available in Jeeps apparently. I know of cam and intake manifold swaps being done but I want it all! (265 hp so they say) My dodge dealer told me it couldn't be done and they wouldn't even attempt the job (they also said the cams couldn't be swapped........) I'm thinking the blocks must be the same even if the part numbers aren't and then it's just motor mounts and all the electronics crap. Can anyone shed light on this idea?????
Thanks in advance
Brian

i would be carefull, make sure you have the h-o computer and everything, ive seen motor swaps in 1500's that were 1 year different in the making of motor going back in and they would not run at all. and if they make a cam set for it then more than likely you can do it. 4.7 heads are not fun to play with.
