Default Electric SC??

I work at Advance Auto Parts and i talk to some people at a local speed shop and some of them say that an Electric supercharger is a good investment for a small time hp boost, but they warn me that my manifold may not take it. Is this true? How much air are these things pushing, can they push more than what my '99 3.9 can take? Thanks

Blinker fluid?

It would take a powerful electric motor to push enough volume to make a difference. And the manifold isn't going to blow up or anything. Sounds like they're pulling your chain, but I could be wrong.

Electric Supercharger/Turbo is a complete gimmik. For starters the units that you can buy do not push enough air to do any good, so in turn they are just restricting air flow (especially when they are turned off). Furthermore, as mentioned above, it would take a powerful electric motor to move enough air to do any good, and where would this "powerful" electric motor get it's power from ... your engine, causing it to work harder, seems like it would negate itself, to me anyhow.

As posted above, these units do absolutely nothing. Whatever "boost" they provide negated by the power it draws and the restrictions it places in the airflow.

i've only seen one electric super charger that was worth it, but it was also a converted honeywell leaf blower. and they're not pulling your chain, these trucks are known for pinging due to bad manifold sealing. i'd avoid it, my $.02.
