dynamat and aftermarket air boxes
i've seen several people use the dynamat extreme on their airboxes to reflect the heat that comes off their exhaust manifolds. i was wondering if anyone here has done it and did it have any pos or neg affects. looks like a license plate kit will cover my air box nicely, and its only $12 at bestbuy.
Im thinking it would work but your looking at about half a horse power gain. I would go with putting exhaust rap on your headers that is if you have them. that why you have less heat in the engine bay and the exhaust will flow better because you are holding in the heat.

A typical formula is for every 7 degrees of temperature reduction, you can gain about 1hp. For $12 it may be worth a try, but you may want to look into a way to redirect colder outside air to your throttle body and/or increase airflow by using a less restrictive filter system than worrying about protecting the OEM equipment from heatsoak.
