Difference between full time and part time transfer cases

Difference between full time and part time transfer cases
Hey, Can anyone tell me what to look for to differentiate between a full time and part time transfer case? Looking into used Dakota but dont want the full time 4 wheel. It would be in the 2001 and up Dakotas. Can I tell by the control **** on the dash? Thanks for the help
