Default Difference between full time and part time transfer cases

Hey, Can anyone tell me what to look for to differentiate between a full time and part time transfer case? Looking into used Dakota but dont want the full time 4 wheel. It would be in the 2001 and up Dakotas. Can I tell by the control **** on the dash? Thanks for the help

If I'm not mistake, the switch on a full time truck just switches between 4hi and 4lo unlike teh 2hi/4hi/4lo like part time trucks.

you should be able to tell by the ****. if it says awd then its a full time, if it says 2hi, 4hi,4lo then that should be the part time.
