Default Speaker question

On my pas. side lower speaker, when I start the truck in the morning I am getting a really loud crackling/popping sound sorta (hard to describe) from this speaker. The truck is a 97 with the infiniti system and stock cd player. It will do it from anywhere from 5 seconds to probably almost a minute. It gets really annoying and I have found it is coming from the pas. side lower speaker only. It doesnt change volume wise if I turn the actual volume up and down. Any clues?

I'd replace the speaker. Usually when you start getting static and noise from a speaker like that, its a sign its starting to go bad.

You could also crack open the door panel and make sure everything is connected properly, as it could have possibly vibrated loose, but I doubt it.

If your truck is a 97, then its probably about time to start replacing speakers in the truck anyways.

Default RE: Speaker question

i put a after market cd player in my dak and lost a speaker and all it was, was a connection at the cd player and before pulling the dash off try just giving it a firm hit above the cd player. if that doesn't work take the dash off and clean the connectors and play the radio while you play with the connectors so you can tell if it gets better or worse. good luck!
