Default V6 Supercharger for the Dakota

I have seen several posts from Dak owners asking if there is a supercharger for the 3.9L V6. Well I have found one that is a T-trim design. Check this out KRC Supercharger. I thought posting it this way would be easier than replying to every other thread seperately. There are also some video threads on this site that even show a 2nd gen Dak cc smoke a mustang in the 1/4 mile. Dak had like two car lengths on Stang by the time he hit 2nd gear.

Post later in thread that has a link to the supercharger. It shows it for V6 engines in general. It does not depict between 3.7, 3.9 and the 4.7L engines. It should work for all of them I believe. I'll leave it to those interested to verify for there specific size motor.

Thanks. Too bad they don't seem to have anything for the newer 3.7.

I don't know why they don't yet. I can find superchargers for 3.4L and 3.9L, but not the 3.7L. I have seen some talk about the Liberty 3.7L being supercharged, but haven't seen any of them yet. If there is though, I don't see why it wouldn't work on the Dak's. It's the same engine by the same company, besides the vehicle it's in? I look all the time though. Let me know if you come across one, I got a Lib also with the 3.7.

Actually, I emailed KRC Performance just to check if they had something and simply weren't advertising it on their site yet (all too common). The saleman said that they do offer a Paxton kit for the 3.7. However, after doing a little digging I can only find bad reviews on the Paxton. People have problems with the unit itself and the company's (Paxton's) tech and customer service. There's no way that I'm going to consider spending 4 grand on a SC unless it gets glowing praise.

Paxton's is a name I noticed with the supercharger for the Liberty, but I don't know anything about them, besides they obviously make a supercharger. I do know of a homemade one that will work on your Dak, but it doesn't have as much psi gain as a fabricated one does. It's only about 2-4 instead of 6 or 8 plus, but it would still make a difference.

I emailed KRC Performance ...

The saleman said
Who did you contact? I sent questions in an email to JBerry (on their Contact Us page) but got no reply.

I think I already deleted the email, but I think I just sent an email to the Sales Dept via their web page. The site does say they are very busy, so give it a little time and I'm sure they would get back to you.

For those wondering about the supercharger for the V6, here it is Novi 1000/1000RR. It is by Paxton and is designed for 4 cylinder and V6 engines and even V8's with small displacement. The RR stands for Reverse Rotation. They list this supercharger for V6 engines in general. It does not distinguish if it will or will not work with the different engine sizes by Liter, so I would believe it will work on all of them.

If you're talking about one of those electronic "Turbonators" again, you ought to be hog-tied and drug behind your own truck! [sm=joke.gif]

If you would actually read the posts, you would no what I'm talking about Pyro. Also, where do you get this again crap from? I have never recommend or talked to anyone about the Turbonator except a 1st gen Dak owner with a 4 cylinder one time. Besides Paxton doesn't make the turbonator and were not talking about turbo's in this thread. It's about Superchargers for the V6.
Open mouth insert foot Pyro. If you look before you step you are a lot less likely to fall.
