Comments and Ideas please
Does anybody know how well I could fit 20" wheels in the front and 22"s in the rear?
Right now i'm rolling stock but I plan on dropping it 3" all around, I checked several times and they should fit
I was wondering if anybody has tried this, and how it worked,
right now, my rear tires are 31/10.5 and my fronts are 30/9.5 both are 16" wheels
I have tons of questions on how cool this'll look but anybody I know calls me an idiot for dropping my truck in the first place.
any feedback would be cool, drop me your comments ,your opinion is your opinion, let me have 'em.
Ilike knowing what people think, good or bad

The Dakota's will do 22's on front and rear. It takes a lil mods for the front, but it can work. Honestly though, I wouldnt go any higher then a 20" on a Dak. As for lowering it, well I wouldnt plan on using a stock suspension to ride on 20's. I would consider going with an 18" and just slammin it as low as you'd like. Plus with the 4cyl the gas mileage will drop anyways and it will be a lil underpowered.
it's underpowered as it is now, I do plan on some heavy engine mods in the future, I like the look of 18's but they don't have the look i'm trying to achieve. plus i see so many 18's on dak's now, they don't have the same effect, I like to see the wheelwells stuffed with chrome and rubber.
the mileage now is high enough i can afford a drop anyways. I still plan on haulin stuff so i won't slam it all the way. I don't plan on using my stock susp. anyway.
I hope to get my wheels near the middle of summer and drop it before that. but I don't know for sure.
how should I go about dropping it? I could go with a kit, or put together a component drop
I just did the math and to keep the right angle, I would actually need a 4/4 drop.
Thanks for the input

To be perfectly honest, I think you are wasting your time/money on the 4cyl motor. You'd be better off buying a 4.7L V8 out of a junked Dak or even the wimpy 3.9L V6.
As for the wheels, I can understand your desire to get a certain look, but be realistic. The wheels are going to be heavy, and the engine is weak even for the stock weight. Then your going to add that weight of the rims and lowering it? I think you are setting yourself up for trouble.
I'd go for 20's max...and even then you wont be able to drop it a whole lot if you are planning to still use it for hauling ****. The truck loses alot of its hauling capability when you start lowering it.
EDIT:
I've owned both a 2000 and a 2001 Dakota. One was the 3.9L and the other was a 4.7L. I know enough to be dangerous about the Daks....

True, but I don't haul any real weight, just big stuff, an antique sewing machine last week and a new couch today,
I will do a full susp. upgrade to bring back the capacity but I don't plan on using it,
As for the wheels, the 20's are only 5 lbs heavier than stock, but the 22's are 10#'s more, not much, but not good if my engines gotta spin 'em
The 20's are looking more comfortable. thanks, i totally overlooked that piece. I do hope to put a bigger engine in, when I need a new one, But so many people overlook the potential of this engine. It's really not much, but I'm not looking for a rice burner. besides, when I talked to the local junkyard, the man spoke just a lick of english and all i could onderstand was "No dodge" it could have been 'no dog' I'm fighting the wind looking for real help nearby
The smallest kit I can find that'll work is a 3-4, I might even go smaller.
(when I do upgrade my engine, I'm stripping the guts and dropping in a 5.9, I know it'll be tons of work and money but I'm willing to bite the bullet)
