spark plugs

Default spark plugs

hi guys ,
I have a 99 dak with a 318 auto 4x4 and my truck "pings" ? I am pretty sure it needs new plugs what brand and part number have you buy found is most resistant or "cooler" for my truck?

Pull the intake air hat off the throttle body and look down into the intake manifold (flashlight, open the throttle blades) and see if you don't have a puddle of oil in there. Thin film is apparently ok, but if there's oil pooling then you've got a bad intake plenum gasket and you need to fix that.

Stock plugs work just great. I'm not a fan of Champion truck plugs, since they're the only ones I've ever broken. I prefer copper plugs over platinum due to cost and performance edge.

i have actually found out that autolite spark plugs are really good. i found this info. in www.v8performance.com and they said that these autolite spark plugs could give you another 4-5hp with new wires.

thanx for the info guys I will definitely check the plemum gasket.
Oh by the way my exhaust finally rusted through and broke off before the muffler on the way to work tonight. I just ordered a magnaflow catback set up . I should see it in 3-7 business days. Maybe a K/N FIPK next.

i have the K&N FIPK and i like it alot plus it looks extra nice under the hood, dyno proven 11hp at the wheels by more than one source you cant beat that for the money
