Rear Defrost on 2004
I am looking to buy a low-mileage, late model Dakota Quad Cab. I have found a 2004 that meets all my needs and wants, and in my price range, but it doesn't have a rear window defrost. I am moving from Victoria BC (no winter) for Ontario (lots of winter) in a few months, and need to know two things: 1. Do I need the defrost? and 2. I can have the wired glass installed for $750, but is the wiring there? This unit has defrost on the rear view mirrors, if that makes a difference. Thanks to anyone who can help.
hey
i'm in new brunswick, and i have a club cab dakota, don't have a rear defrost.. and usualy there's never ice on it, windshield yes.... it might fog up a little bit, but the inside of the cab doesn't take long before its warm.. for the wiring, yes it is there, even the wires for the fog lights are there, if you don't already have some.. my opinion, don't realy need that rear defrost..

$750 buys a lot of mittens for scraping the window off if you need it. I've got a sliding rear window so there's no defrost on mine either, and I've not once missed it. Granted your winters will be worse, but I don't anticipate you needing it. I'd save the money for something else.
