Elctric Door Lock BUZZZZZZ
My 2000 Dak. and my 99 Dur. right rear door's both give off this screaching buzzing noise when I lock or unlock them (using the pwr button of course). Does anyone else have this problem? Is this a quick fix or one of those dealer items I have to buy???

its either a loose connector (not enough juce to the sylnoid) or a bad sylnoid - look at the connecttors, especally if it is happening on more than one door in the same vehicle
I got the exact same noise you describe. Before I got a chance to investigate what was causing it and give it a spray with WD40, the lock stopped working. Its now jammed, can't lift the button or use the key or remote to open that side. Took the door skin off at the weekend and can't see why it would be sticking. Looks like I'll be getting a new solonoid. When I phoned a Jeep dealer, I described the part before telling him what vehicle it was for. He assumed it was for a Grand Cherokee as they seem to be a weak point on them. We don't officaily get Dodge here but I'm guessing its the same part, so some of us can expect problems with them in the future. Sorry its not better news!

Ok, I guess when I get a chance this weekend....yeh right........(rugrats you know), I'll take the door panel off and check out the solinoid. Just posted the truck today "for sale" in the local mag. Got to make sure these things are working properly. Thnx.!!

Yeh, well, I finally brought the truck here at work in the garage and took off the door panel. I found the solinoid. It's pretty much tucked away to the point that you need someone with a hand the size of my four year old! From what I was able to see, it looked to be hooked at/on the door striker. I didn't even want to f%^k with it, so, I just ended up unplugging the darn thing!
One more quick/long story, I'll make it short. Truck has a new 4.7 motor in it and at the time it had died and was towed to a garage then to another I finally got it back (10 months later.....THAT'S another story!!). I've noticed the brake fluid level going down. I would refill it to the "full" mark and then within a week it was back down to "add" or just below the mark. Anyway, when I pulled my truck out of the garage after the door episode I noticed a couple of drops on the cement floor. Naturally I checked the area on my truck where it was coming from and I found the brake leak. Rear left side axle where the brake line trials on the top side of the axle. Brake line squashed on the top side??? Hmmmm, got me thinking........must have happened when some ***$% put the tow hooks on the axle.
Your asking, why didn't I check to find the leak earlier? Well, I did right from the begining and I could not find any leakes at all. Since I got the truck back nothing has been the same.[sm=confused06.gif]
Thnx. for the info Dodge freaks!!
