Default What lights for Clear Markers??

What light bulbs did you all use to get amber bulbs in your clear marker lights. I cannot seem to find a amber bulb in the correct number for the Dakota. I found one in the next number up, but not sure if that will work. Can anyone help??

If you are looking for the front turn signal / marker... you should be looking for a 3157NA
These are rather common light bulbs.
My brother just changed his bulbs and we found that a 3357NA will work as well.
These bulbs have the same base and are both dual filament.
You can usually take your old bulb into an auto parts store and visually match them up.
When you visually match the look for base style, number of contacts, number of filaments, and actual size of the glass for the bulb.

You are correct that the 3157 is the correct bulb, but according to 3 parts stores they do not make the 3157 in an amber bulb. I wondered if the 3357 would work. I knew they were the same base, but you never know if they will work. The 3357 comes in an amber bulb.

Thanks

Well, from working at AutoZone, they DO make an amber 3157.
But anyways.... the lights I bought for my brother's truck was a pair of 3157's and a pair of 3357's.
Sadly my store only had one set of the 3157's. But the ones that he wanted were the SilverStar brand.
They are a bit brighter and don't show amber in your clear lenses.
The SliverStar's ran about $20 per pair, which is a bit steep.
If you want to know about the performance of the 3157's vs. the 3357's, you should ask my brother, batman13.

the bulbs are the same as far as i can tell, the siverstars are
beautiful, The light is not much brighter but is much more noticable when lighted up.
when off they look blue/green, but pop amber when you turn 'em on. it's real sweet when you have your turn signal on and they go back and forth. i got three people pull up next to me and ask how i do it within three days
i say "Majic"
as for the differences between the different bulb numbers
look to the pictures, the inner bulb is a 3357, the outer is a 3157, i see no visual differences

I went to my local Meijers, and bought the silverstar looking bulbs, and they look and work just fine, all for about half the price...I think...lol
