Default 2000 Dak Quad Cab, V6 w/ water leak

My Dakota has developed a water leak. I traced it to a drain line in the firewall. It drains out into the right hand side of the engine compartment, close to center. Anyone got an idea what this drain line is for and have any idea how much of a pain it would be to investigate/fix? I'm imagining heat and air. Thanks y'all.

Could be just the condesation that puddled up found the drain hole. Is it green? If its green then your heater core is leaking. If it is clear (shouldnt have any antifreeze taste) then its pretty much just the a/c evaprator sweating (normal). If its the heater core, then you might as well start saving up $$$. Min I found to have someone replace it is $700. Now I just do it myself (had enough practice with this POS dakota in 2 yrs[:@])
