97 dakota 5.9l trans.
just got rid of my 97 ram and got a 97 dakota w/ 5.9 does this truck have the same 46re trans as my 97 ram? thanks for the help. i would look myself but i dont pick up the truck until monday. thank you

i wouldn't think anything in them would be ram-specific.
i know towing can significantly effect the life of the tranny (most people with these trucks that tow, add [if they dont already have] a auxilary tranny oil cooler to help this, because heat kills them).
overall, they seem to be pretty reliable for normal driving (seeing as theres a lot of trucks on here with over 100K, with what they say is probably [or is] the original tranny. of course, that cannot be said for everyone.).
my little 96 dakota only has the 42re because its got the v-6, but at 93,000 its still doing just fine.
