I'm 15 yo and I need a little advice. I've got a 97 Dodge dak and its got nearly 200,000 miles its blowing white smoke like crazy and overheating, I belive that its got a cracked head and,or blown head gasket reasing being it trys stall when i try to accelerate and the crazed white smoke and when put into drive it trys to quit like its losing vacum. With the overheating I turn the heater on and its blowing cool air, when it does blow hot air the temp gauge drops in no time. PLEASE HELP, NEED ADVICE ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you definetley have a blown head gasket. you need to check the oil to see if you have traces of coolant in the oil. you're gonna have to pull the heads, change the gaskets and take the heads to a machine shop and make sure they're not craked or warped.
if its got 200,000 on it and u find out the heads r craked or warped, i wouldnt even bother. just get a new motor. u will be better off. call me an idiot, but thats a lot of money to be putting into a motor with nearly 200,000 on it IMO
