First Mods...
So i just picked up my 02 SXT 3.9 4x4 and i love it, its a bit slow off the start but what im hoping to do is give it a little more power if possible. I want to add a few mods over the summer and this is what i have been thinking from reading these forums.
1.) Flowmaster 50 Cat-Back
2.) K&N FIPK
3.) Superchip 3715
Will these mods gain me the little extra horse im looking for? is there anything else i should be doing? or not doing? Thanks alot.

depending on where you live a 180 thermostat will go good with your superchip. k/n is always a great investment. relocating your iat sensor when you install your k/n is a cheap free way for better performance and mileage.. most sensors sit in the airbox next to the throttle body. you get a false reading sometimes because it picks up engine heat, by relocating closer to the air filter when you install your k/n it will pick up cooler air flow which adjust your air fuel mixture for better performance. people are complaining about the flowmasters. inside cab noise is terrible. for now the cheapest mod will be the t-stat.you can get great deals at ebay motors for these trucks
Louder mufflers will almost all add to interior noise, but yes, the louder flowmasters are no exception. Go to their website and see where they rank them as far as interior resonance.

I live down in Bellingham, so we've pretty much got the same weather.
The reason for a 195 t-stat from the factory is that hotter combustion makes the mixture burn more completely, resulting in lower emissions.
Go with a 180 degree stat and your chances for detonation go down (lower overal engine temp) as well as being able to get a bit more timing and more power.
You could get a 160 t-stat, but your ECU will never take you out of open loop mode and it'll keep the "choke" on, resulting in running rich (poor economy, loss of power, etc).
I run a 180 in my 86, and as I feel like replacing the other vehicles I'll put a 180 in them as well.

You can get them at any auto parts store - napa, schucks, lordco, etc.
Install it when you flush the coolant next, you'll have to drain a bunch of coolant out anyway. Don't forget a new water neck gasket too.
