does anyone know what a 1997 4x4 dakota has for a rear and front diff? i think its 9-1/4? also what is the gear ratio? thanks for the help guys

 

Again, all of this stuff depends on your truck. Look on the axle for a tag bolted to the cover with some numbers stamped on it. And google differentials to get an idea of what they all look like, then compare to yours. If you've got a v8 most likely you've got a 9.25

 

if you look on the sticker that is in your glove box it should tell you. its either 8 1/4 or 9/14 and most likely 3.55 gears.
