Limited slip or open?

does a 1997 dakota 4x4 have an open diff or limited slip? just wondering if i needed to add an additive

That really depends on your truck. Look at your option codes or on the axle itself to see if it is marked.

If you use a synthetic gear oil most of them already have the additive in them.
