Default 3.9 muffler help

Hey everyone
sorry to sound like a broken record on a couple of these questions, but i just like to hear other peoples thoughts and feelings on the subject. I bought my 99 4x4 manual club cab v6 a few months ago and i am looking into putting a new muffler on it for a louder sound. i just have a few general questions, first, how much should the labor be on installing just a new muffler and chrome tip? i have found the part on ebay for around 80 bucks shipped and was curious about what other people have paid for labor. also once i get the exhaust, will my stick shift sound different then the same truck and exhaust with auto? in other words is it going to sound bad? my last question is since i go to college in duluth minneta, will a flowmaster or spintech be able to withstand the winter for a few years, or is it a waste of money to put it on? thanx guys, everything that i know about trucks so far has come mainly from this forum.

I'd go with a Flowmaster 40 series. Paint it to protect it from the salt, I didn't on mine and it got eaten though. As for the labor, I couldn't tell you.. I do my own.

IMO-Magnaflow and Flowmaster are what I recomend. If your looking for loudness go with magnaflow, If you want a deep throaty roar go with flowmaster. The only thing is on my 3.9 once you start getting around 3 000 rmps you can tell its a v6 with the 40 series I have.

I'm seriously considering a glasspack. I had one on my old Neon and it sounded real good for a 4 banger, so I can only assume it'll make my 3.9L sound bad *** as well. Can't beat $20!

is a glass pack the same as what used to be known as a cherry bomb? does it replace the muffler? and if it is only 20 bucks, will it hold up through a winter in duluth minnesota? also, will a flowmaster make it through a couple years of harsh snow and cold up here? any experiences or info would be helpful, thanks

It was on my Neon for maybe 3 winters. If the paint doesn't chip it'll be fine. If it chips, it'll rust where the chips are.
