Default 2003 AC

Hi,
My ac is working, but not very well. It wasn't working at all, the dealer replaced the refridgerant, and it worked - sort of. Had it back to the dealer today, and it still sort of works. It is like slightly cooled air coming out of the vent, but not enough to cool the cab down. Any one else had tis problem? [:@]

There is likely a slow leak somewhere - top off the refrigerant and it works ok, then days later it is struggling to keep up...

They need to do a leak test. A dye is put in the system and UV lights show where it is leaking. A very common test.

I currently have a leak on my Dakota too. Unfortunately it is the valve used to fill the refrigerant which means I need a shop to handle the repair (I am no good with plumbing fittings). Fortunately though, especially during Tulsa summers, I can top off the system and keep the leak under control by attaching a hose to fitting to seal it off temporarily.

My '03 is having a weird AC issue. The blower does not turn on when the ac (or defrost, etc) is turned on the lowest fan setting. Once the setting is moved to the second lowest, it works like a charm.

Alright, something odd happened. Went for a long drive with the family, and it was still working intermittently. Stopped for gas about 30 miles from home, and it has worked like a hot damn ever since. I stuck a meat thermometer in the vent, and it gets down to 40 degrees after about 10 minutes of driving. I figure that there must have been something stuck somewhere that finally broke loose - hows that for technical. Anyways thanks for the replied. PS - Gutted ( I'm IBEW local 213 out of Vancouver)
