Default Sticky O2 Sensor

Ok, in the past 2 weeks, my truck has been giving me a hard time.
The fuel pump went, so I had to be towed off the parkway, then after routine maintenance, I'm up to about $900.
Yesterday, the engine light comes on, and I get code P0138, so I went to Autobarn and picked up a new O2 sensor.
This time, I'm doing the work myself- Can't afford to give any more money to the mechanic.

I've located the location of the sensor...thanks to the Hayes manual.
I'm trying to break it loose, with out breaking it!

I ran the truck for a bit to make the exhaust system a bit warm. The darn sensor won't budge.
Is it safe to spray on some liquid wrench or something to help free it? Does it normally take some "gentle" persuasion at the end of the wrench with a hammer? Is there any special tool for the job, besides an open ended wrench?

I'm just an oil-change type of guy, but now I'm determined to save money!

Thanks!
ps, this is a 2000 Dakota 4x4 V6 3.9L
