for ****S and giggles im thinking about getting NOS. YES i know i have a 4 cyl. YES i know it wont be as fast as a V8. i have herd that a 50 or 75 shot of NOS wont hurt your engine....so i have a few questions..

Do they make a kit for my truck?

where can i get it?

how much??

what is the biggest shot i could run?

what else do i have to change on my truck??

THANK YOU

Just for future reference, NOS is the actual company Nitrous Oxide Systems...

forget about the bottle. your bottom end wont handle the power.ever seen a motor with the rod sticking through the oil pan. you would be better of with a modified pcm.

i think its a terrible idea but...

kragen and pep boys have generic nitrius kits for tuner cars available for special order, and on occasion i have even seen it on the shelf. its supposed to be a 50-75 shot and its designed to be used on mostly stock motors. they are generic and usually just hage a nozzle that attaches to the air intake tube after the air intake sensor and creates a fog of nitrous that goes in with the air. your going to blow up your motor if you dont know exactly what your doing. but on a positive not you can then buy yourself a V8. if you want to go fast go buy a $500 POS motorcycle. my first bike was a $300 nighthawk 650 and i drove it home. 0-60 in 3.2 and its about the same price as your nitrous system.

i've got a friend thats restoring a 1981 chevy half ton pickup and he put NOS hookups on it but most engines cant handle much of that so he is just running compressed air through it to where he can make the air fuel mixture leaner or richer just by opening a valve. and i'll tell you what that truck will lay posies for a couple hundred feet and they are coal black when u open the valves for that compressed air. it didnt do that before he hooked that up. but by no means am i saying ur truck will becomes some huge powerful beast like his truck though lol he's got 4 more cylanders than u. if u ask me compressed air is a lot more practical than running nitrous oxide. plus you dont have to refill compressed air tanks he's got an actual compressor on his tank so it stays full all the time.

you are safe running nitrous on there as long as you don't go over 75 shot......assuming you got stock internals...also a rule of thumb is retard timing @ 2 deg per 50 shot and always use 1 level cooler spark plugs and never go lean or you will melt a piston and or bust your rings up.........nitrous being misunderstood as often....its just like bolting a supercharger/turbocharger w/ no supporting mods.......

that's just my .02 cents
