Starting Problems
Hey folks,
Lately my Dodge Dakota 1999 V6 3.9 2WD has starting problems. I have to try starting at least 3 time before the engine runs after the 3rd attempt it takes the starter about 3 secs to get the engine started. After the engine started running and I turn it off again it starts perfectly.
Could somebody advise me what this could be?
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards,
Bjorn

I would try turning the key on and off 3-4 times before starting it to cycle the fuel pump. and see if that makes it better.

I am having these same issues. Turning the key on/off two or three times solves the issue. Only occurs when the truck sits a while, couple hours. I figured that I probably have a small pressure leak somewhere in the fuel line. Assuming the fuel rail. Let me know if you have yours corrected and what the issue was.
Anyone else have any input?

Had the same problem with my 99, turning the key solved the problem also. Replaced fuel filter and o-rings in the fuel rail, don't know which it was but cured my problem. It happened to me at about 90,000 miles.
