Go with the coated. I went with non-coated and continue to have problems with the high-heat under the hood and have to stay on top of surface rust developing. I asked the same question on this forum about tape and most responses said it will not last on a daily driver.
I wish I had spent the extra bucks up front. I'd check more on prices, though, $600 sounds high.

Get the non-coated gibsons... I had them on my ram and never had a problem with them other than the light surface rust. Shot8283 over in the Ram Gen2 forum had ceramic edelbrocks and had nothing but problems with them. send him a pm and he'll be glad to chat with you on his problem... or you can search the ram gen2 forum for his thread...

im all for the coated headers. One reason like someone else said it cuts the heat down under the hood and they last longer.

I have the gibson none coated on mine. The only heat problem I had was the aftermarket wrap on places where it originally didn't have any. Been very happy with them.
