Default throw out bearing?

i think my throw out bearing is going bad. its a 3.9 5 speed manual and it ticks in every gear including neutral. it'll stop if i push the clutch down even just a little bit. anybody have this happen or know what it might be? thanks

Sure sounds like your throw out bearing to me.......I know I had a manual car before and burned up a few of those so that is why I now only drive automatics hehe

it could be your throwout bearing. whats happening is as soon as you even touch the clutch pedal its starting to grip thus stopping the ticking. but you could also have burnt your pressure plate which is what usually causes the grinding or ticking sounds when the plates are spinning

I think its the throwout bearing, hopefully these are not too expensive to replace. i'm guessing this should be done be a trany guy and not me. throwing bearings after only 85k miles, not bad but definitely not good. can i drive on it for a while? its been about six months and has gotten a little louder but not too loud. thanx Ryan

Lil don't worry you'll have bigger problems than a throw out bearing with an automatic...

I've driven stick shift with bad throw out until the bearing was screaming and never got stranded. You probably have a some driveability left. Last time I replaced a throw-out the dang bell housing dropped on my forehead [:@] and I saw stars for a week!!! Might want to have a pro do it.
