Default 03 5.9 R/T Help

Hi guys, new member here. I've got a 2003 5.9 R/T that I need to replace the headgaskets and water pump on. I was looking for member advice on the best place to purchase a headgasket set and the waterpump, and if there is anything else recommended I look into?

Thanks all..

i would stay away from ebay on those items simply because a local parts store will have them, and i doubt you will be saving a lot of $$$ on ebay for them. you also wont have to wait. do you know how to install them? let us know if you have any trouble.

Local parts store will have OEM stuff. I don't recommend going to Schuck's and getting their cheap stuff. It's garbage.

If you go to Schuck's, Napa, etc. go to their website first and find the parts you need, then print out the prices. Take it in to the store and have them match the prices.

I typically upgrade stuff, so I'd go to www.summitracing.com and get some higher end stuff. If you're doing head gaskets, you may want to really think about building the motor - if the cyl bores are fine then I'd leave it alone, but if they're worn/scratched then maybe it's time to go big inch.

At any rate, if you've got money to spend, get in touch with www.hughesperformance.com and look into one of their modified intake manifolds, throttle body, ecu, etc. You've got a great opportunity to really wake that truck up since you'll have to really tear into it anyway.
