P0456 Code fix ideas?
i keep geting P0456 (M) Evap Leak Monitor Small Leak Detected Leak has been detected in the evaporative system. code, reset light stays off for about a week, new gas cap or jsut live with it drives and runs normal jsut as it did the day i baught it..
EVAP leaks will prove almost impossible to find....Good Luck. You can try the gas cap for piece of mind, but if that doesn't get it I would just go to AutoZone perodically and get it scanned just to make sure that is the only reason the CEL is on.

So no ideas nobody has had this problem...Im thinking that its no big deal but id like to fix the problem.
It might be the gas cap seal.
Disconnected, misrouted, loose, damaged, cracked, etc. hoses or componets could cause this.
There should be a vacuum diagram on the underside of your hood or some place visable in the engine compartment.
It could be a evap system item (like the purge solenoid) but I'm not going to say "this" or "that" is the problem because I have no experiance with these new-fangled systems.

I'd start by taking it off and putting it back on, making sure it clicks a few times.
Clear the code if you can, see if it comes back.

I had this error code about a week ago. I tried tightening the gas cap and disconnecting the battery and no luck. I found a very small cracked hose right by the evap purge under the fuse box and another very very small one under the truck by the evap canister. I sealed both and the cel went away. Been about a week and it hasn't came back. Hope this proves helpful.
