heater
Could be a few things, low coolant/bad stat, bad switch that controls the door between hot and cold, or maybe the door itself has gone bad. Sounds as if your fan is fine since it blows cold. I would first check your coolant level and stat.since they are the easiest. Not sure hwo to check the switch/door without just replacing them, maybe some sort of voltameter do hicky.
It may just be clogged if you aren't having any overheating issues. Check this thread out for instructions on how to take care of it. https://dodgeforum.com/m_568926/tm.htm
Your heater core is most likely clogged follow the link I left in my previous post and it will tell you how to flush it out. Your heater core would be bad if that flush does not work or if it is leaking in which case you would have coolant on the passenger side floor and just so you know everything is the same between the dakota and durango from the cab forward.
thanks for the info i will try to flush the heater core this weekend and hopefully this will fix it.

ok i back flushed the heater core. I ran water backwards thru the heater core for about 5 mins. then i ran it thru the normal way for 5 mins. I did that twice both ways and now i've got heat. Thanks for the help..
Hey, I have the same problem every year. The heater core becomes clogged and needs to be flushed, but not the normal flush. Water needs to be back flushed in order to really make it effective. When does this way it is very effective and save the 500 bucks for a new heater core....
