rear diff
no that doesn't sound normal. put the rear up on ramps and take the axle diff plate off. get a new gasket at the local store for a couople bucks and while u have it off you'll be able to see the condition of the gears. its easey to do just scrape off the old gasket or sillocone replace the plate then fill it lastly w/ some synthetic diff oil up to the bottom of the oil hole thats covered by a little rubber cap. pretty simple task, should take about 1/2 hour.
Don't forget, since yours is a limited slip, add the bottle of friction modifier. Pick this up at the dealership, its like $8. (Some oils say it doesn't need the additives, I say, add it anyways, better to be safe than out of hundreds of dollars).
I've heard this stuff is pretty good as an additive. If you use their synthetic lube, you don't need an additive.
