looking for info
is the fuel pump in the tank?Is there an egr valve?
Truck doesn't want to idle when it first starts help!

the pump in in the tank i just put a new one in my 97 dak about a month ago.....$209 from autozone...the $209 includes everything (pump sending unit,filter, etc) basicly it does everything exept cook your breakfest

Like BlackDak07 said, fuel pumps in the tank.
As far as an EGR valve, I believe they do NOT have EGR valves. They do, however, have Evap/Purge Solenoids. I believe the purpose of this is to "catch" fuel vapors and inject it into the engine at a later time.

What I would do: get to the throttle body. Mounted on the back of that is what's called the idle air control (IAC) motor, which is nothing more than a computer-controlled pintle that moves in and out, which than controls idle speed. Take this off and clean it and the area it goes into. Also, take a good look at the TB and clean it as needed.

Let us know what ya find.

James is right... yank the TB and clean it real good. while your there, look down into the intake for any oil pooling and let us know how it goes.
