Hey everyone. New guy here. I just got my 2000 R/T a couple weeks ago and thought I'd post some pics of my (first) pickup. Until now, I've been more of a sportscar owner but with my new house, I thought I'd get something more useful... but still sporty. This truck definitely fits the bill! I'm loving it so far. I'm thinking of doing some exhaust and intake mods but that'll be next summer probably. The previous owner owns his own company so he had some money. He put about 101,000 miles on this truck. It just had some major work done on the tranny in Jan. so I shouldn't have to worry about that for a long time. He also included some extra rims and tires for winter driving. That was a really cool bonus!

One question. What is considered average or even good milage for this truck? I'm getting around 12.5MPG in the city with just a little bit of a heavy foot (seriously, I haven't been getting on it hard at all). I did get into a race with some kid in a turbo PT Cruiser the very first night I got the truck. Blew his doors off. I think he got a little PO'd about it when took the next corner at speed and went sideways around the corner. He had to have been pulling on the emergency brake to make it slide like that. Oh well....

I just put in a new MP3 deck yesterday and I had to replace the radiator cap last week. Those are the only things I've had to do so far. That stock deck really sucks.

Pics -

That's it for now. I don't usually post much but I'll be lurking around and chiming in once and a while.

Later folks!
Scott

My average in my Dakota has been about 12.5 combined, but mostly city, although mine's a 4x4 quad cab and much heavier.

I get about 13+ MPG if I drive like a normal person. I tend to wanna push on the gas at some points. If I had that R/T, I'd probably simply start by painting the wheel wells black. Just so it doesnt off set from the rest of the truck.

That is actually a very good idea. And cheap too! I think I'll do that. Thanks!
