Default Operating temp too low

I have a '97 Dak w/ a 3.9. 120,000 miles on it. Had the motor tilted and the cooling system flush done yesterday along with a new 195 degree thermostat. Still the motor is not warming up enough to even heat the truck. Only reaching approximately 160 degrees. Anyone dealt with this that can help?

welcome to df... sounds like the t-stat is stuck open... couple of things you could try is to get it warmed up and as water is passing the t-stat, take a piece of wood long enough to put down onto the t-stat and give the wood a gentle wack with a hammer. this may free it up. however if it sticks once it'll stick again so you may need to return it and get another one. it is also recommended to get a 180 deg t-stat and to drill a real small air bleed hole on the diaphram.

also try this. put a piece of card board between radiator and grill. go for a ride, the temp guage should go up do to the lack of air cooling the off. also switch to a 180 stat. cooler engine makes a little more power.
