clunking...stabilizer links/nuts?
Just wondering if the stabilizer links/nuts have gone on anyone else's Dak? Could this be causing the clunking in my front end when turning the wheel or starting from a stop? I had a look at the manual and they seem simple enough to change...is this a 'jack stand in the driveway' job or a 'use my buddy's hoist after-hours' job?
I had to do these in my wife's focus this year and cost me $300 - the stealership did such a great job the first time I thought I'd give them another crack at it a year later when they started clunking again [:@]

I don't know if that's what's causing your clunking but I do know changing the bushings is a fairly easy thing to do. And you should be able to do it without needing the jack.
i have an 2oo1 w/ about 89k on it and the only clunking i ever had was from the ball joints. check those out too, as u probaly know they were a weak point in the dak's
I thought ball joints initially but after I described the sound to my mechanic he turned me to thinking about the suspension links/nuts. I thought the ball joints only really crapped out on 4WD's. What's the best way to check my ball joints....or are they easy enough just to swap out because I'm down there anyway?
Ball joints are a lot more work to do. They are pressed into your upper and lower a-frames. The rivets holding them will need to be either ground out or drilled out.
