Default Rear Limited Slip

Hello everybody. I just bought a 2002 Dodge Dakota SXT 2wd and was wondering what the odds of having the factory limited slip are. Also it has the Chrysler 8 1/4, correct?

TIA,
Tom

I thought you could get it as an option on any 2WD truck?

My 99 V6 Dakota had a 8.25" Limited Slip. My 99 V8 Dakota has a 9.25 open diff. I'm working on clearning a space in my garage to install a limited slip diff. Wish me luck. Any advice would be helpful.

4 and 6 cyls have the 8.25", v8's have the 9.25. LSD was an option on pretty much any truck, standard on R/T.

if you look in side your glove box, theres a sticker on the inside with all your options. and it will tell you if you have posi or not.

My 99' has a V8 with an open 8 1/4 rear end.

Looking for a 9 1/4 for a swap out though.

Interesting, I wonder if it's just the 360 that gets the 9.25. Huh.
